Why a Vandenbeele Collection

Theo Weytjens does not only want to excel at the extreme long distance. For him the large middle distances and the one day races are also beautiful and challenging disciplines . For these distances from 500 to 750 km you need other pigeons of course. He decided upon the pigeons of Gaby Vandenabeele, the grandmaster from Dentergem. The results achieved in recent years with these pigeons, both at the Vandenabeele loft itself as with many other champions, are very clear: currently there are no better pigeons in the world for flights from 500 to 750 km.
Because Theo Weytjens wanted Vandenabeeles firsthand, he founded his collection on pigeons straight from Vandenabeele. He even had Nero, 3 nat. Bourges against 22499 pigeons for Gaby Vandenabeele, for some time on loan in Zutendaal. At the same time he borrowed the Mooie Bliksem, a son of the Bliksem and a full brother of the Emill Bliksem, out of the top pair Bliksem x Goed Jong (a half sister of Nero). Both top pigeons, paired with direct Vandenabeele hens ,provided him with top breeding material.
In this way Theo Weytjens has gathered, in a short time span, a famous collection of Vandenabeele pigeons from the best lineage: Bliksem, Rudy, Lion King, Patron (1 prov. Bourges), Louie, Captain Blue (Son Bliksem), Maurice (direct Casaert), son Nicky (halfbrother Super Romeo), Jason, Brother Gloria (1 nat zone Limoges & 2 national Ace LD (Royal Blue x Mona), Pablo, Pedro, Diego etc.
Recently, he has also bought another grandson of the Bliksem via Rik Cools (son of Bliksem-Fryda x Provinciaalke) .
With such a strong basis things can't go wrong. And still Theo Weytjens is looking to acquire more top material from the peerless Vandenabeele strain. But it is becoming increasingly difficult to buy directly at source in Dentergem, the demand currently being bigger than what Gaby can provide...		 Theo Weytjens wil niet enkel uitblinken op de grote fond. Ook de grote halve fond en de dagfond vindt hij mooie en uitdagende disciplines. Daarvoor heb je andere duiven nodig natuurlijk. Zijn keuze viel op de duiven van Gaby Vandenabeele, de grootmeester uit Dentergem. De uitslagen die de laatste jaren behaald worden met deze duiven, zowel bij Vandenabeele zelf als bij talloze andere kampioenen, geven hem volledig gelijk: momenteel zijn er nergens op de wereld betere voor de vluchten van 500 tot 750 km.
Omdat Theo Weytjens geen Vandenabeeles wil uit het derde knoopsgat, legde hij de basis voor zijn collectie met rechtstreekse duiven van Vandenabeele. Zelfs de Nero, 3 nat. Bourges tegen 22499 duiven voor Gaby Vandenabeele, zat een tijdje in leen in Zutendaal. Zo leende hij ook een tijd de Mooie Bliksem, een zoon van de Bliksem, en niet zomaar een zoon maar een volle broer van de Emill Bliksem en dus uit de topkoppeling Bliksem x Goed Jong (een halfzus van Nero). Uit beide topduiven kweekte Weytjens zich het nodige kweekmateriaal, uiteraard ook met directe duivinnen van Vandenabeele als moeder.
Zo heeft Theo Weytjens zich op korte tijd een collectie Vandenabeeleduiven verzameld uit de allerbeste lijnen: Bliksem, Rudy, Lion King, Patron (1 prov. Bourges), Louie, Captain Blue (zoon Bliksem en zelf topkweker), Maurice (direct Casaert en al vader van 1 nat. zone Argenton), zoon Nicky (halfbroer dus van Super Romeo), Jason, Broer Gloria (1 nat zone Limoges en 2de nationale Asduif uit Royal Blue x Mona), Pablo, Pedro, Diego enz.
Recent nog kocht hij een kleinzoon van de Bliksem via Rik Cools (uit zoon Bliksem-Fryda x Provinciaalke).
Met een dergelijke basis kan het niet fout gaan. Wat niet wegneemt dat Weytjens op de loer ligt om nog topmateriaal uit de weergaloze Vandenabeelestam op de kop te tikken. Maar het wordt steeds moeilijker om eraan te komen, zo groot is de vraag momenteel...
